MYTH: It takes too long to have a massage
The massage therapist will always do what is in the best interest of the patient (i.e. if the patient cannot afford a full hour of massage or does not have enough time for a full hour massage, the massage therapist will most likely offer shorter times for massage).

Massage After Exercise May Speed Muscle Recovery
Does sports massage after intense exercise speed muscle recovery? While athletes of every kind use sports massage, the hard research into whether and how it works has been sparse. But a 2008 study by Ohio State University researchers found evidence that Swedish massage improved the time it took for the muscle to recover and the massaged muscles had less damage and less evidence of swelling and inflammation.

Upper Back Stretch
Stretching the muscles in your upper back can promote good posture. To stretch these muscles:
- Stand in a relaxed position with your arms extended in front of you, parallel to the floor (top image).
- Pull your shoulder blades together behind you, bending your arms slightly at the elbows. You’ll notice that your arms spread a little wider as you do this (bottom image).
- Hold about 30 seconds
- Repeat as desired.
